Therapy is a safe and confidential space where you receive emotional support, guidance, and collaborate with the therapist in the development and achievement of your therapeutic goals. Everyone comes to therapy with different needs which makes treatment unique to each individual. Keep in mind that therapy is a space free of judgement where you get to be vulnerable and be met with compassion along every step of the way.
Therapy can be a very helpful tool for those who chose to be intentional. Some benefits include developing a healthier sense of self, gain greater inner strength, gain self-understanding, learn new ways to communicate, and set new boundaries with self and others. Individuals can learn to better manage the stressful demands of everyday life and develop healthier ways to cope with anxiety, depression, anger, and grief. Painful and traumatic memories may come up in therapy offering an opportunity to reprocess them in a safe and therapeutic environment often leading to a reduction of PTSD symptoms. Therapy can be beneficial during moments of transition including loss, breakups, traumatic events, career choice/change, etc.
It depends on the needs of each individual. Some people may only need short-term therapy, lasting anywhere from 3 to 5 months, this is best fit for individuals who have had therapy in the past and are returning to work through a single issue. Others may benefit from long-term therapy, lasting 6 months and over, this is best fit for individuals who are new to therapy or have complex matters that they'd like to unpack and work through. Sessions are held once or twice a week, lasting 45 minutes or 90 minutes, depending on need.
Cost ranges depending on your need. Additional information will be provided during your initial consultation.
You will be provided with a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement at the end of each month. You are encouraged to call your insurance to inquire and obtain specifics on your coverage for psychotherapy.
